These terms explain using Kaelor, Free and Premium features, your journal content, optional iCloud sync, backups and your rights. Kaelor Premium is an optional one-time purchase, not a subscription.
1. About Kaelor and these terms
Kaelor for iPhone is developed and operated under the OPEXPER name (“we”, “us” or “our”). For questions or support, email hello@opexper.io and mention Kaelor.
These Terms of Use apply to the Kaelor iPhone app. Read them with the Kaelor Privacy Policy, the licence applicable to your App Store download and Apple’s App Store conditions. Kaelor version 1.0 requires an iPhone running iOS 26 or later.
2. App Store licence
Your App Store download is governed by Apple’s Standard End User Licence Agreement unless a custom licence is supplied with it. These terms provide supplemental information about Kaelor and do not replace the applicable app licence or Apple’s purchase conditions.
The applicable licence sets out your permission to install and use the app. Mandatory legal rights and exceptions permitted by law remain unaffected.
3. What Kaelor provides
Kaelor helps you write and organise memories, attach selected photos, record optional moods and places, browse a calendar, search entries, and use reminders and privacy controls.
Mood summaries, writing streaks and other insights describe the entries, moods and tags available in the app. They are personal reflection tools, not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or professional counselling. Location names and maps may be incomplete or inaccurate and are not navigation or safety guarantees.
4. Free and Premium
Free supports up to 30 journal entries and one photo per memory, with core journaling, search, tags, collections, calendar, optional locations, local reminders, PIN App Lock and optional iCloud sync.
Premium removes the entry limit and supports up to three photos per memory, writing and mood insights, full-journal PDF export, encrypted backup/restore and export/import, and biometric unlock with PIN fallback. The app explains the features available with your entitlement.
Premium is an optional one-time, non-consumable lifetime unlock, not a recurring subscription. There are no trials or recurring subscription charges in version 1.0. The applicable price and currency are shown by Apple before you confirm a purchase. These terms do not promise unannounced future features.
Apple processes purchases and verifies the entitlement. Restore Purchases can restore an eligible purchase using the Apple Account associated with it, subject to Apple’s conditions. Contact us if Premium does not unlock as expected. Existing saved memories and attached photos are not deleted just because your entitlement changes; current limits may affect adding new content.
5. Purchases, refunds and consumer rights
App Store purchases are subject to Apple’s terms and applicable law. Apple provides its purchase-support and refund-request process. You may also contact OPEXPER about a faulty or incorrectly described app.
Nothing in these terms takes away a right to a refund, repair, replacement or other remedy available under applicable consumer law. Apple’s refund-request process does not replace mandatory consumer rights.
6. Your content and responsible use
You retain ownership of your journal writing, photos and other content. Saving a memory does not transfer that ownership to OPEXPER, and these terms do not grant us a licence to publish your journal or use it for advertising or AI training.
Only save, import or share content you are entitled to use. Respect other people’s privacy and intellectual property rights. You are responsible for deciding what to record, keeping shared files secure and checking recipients before sharing.
Use Kaelor lawfully. Do not attempt unauthorised access to related services or use the app in ways that infringe the rights of others. The app’s software, design and branding belong to their respective owners and licensors; your right to use them is governed by the applicable licence and law.
7. Storage, iCloud sync and deletion
Journal content is stored on your iPhone by default. Optional iCloud sync uses the private database associated with your Apple Account. OPEXPER does not operate a journal-hosting service and cannot remotely retrieve memories from your device or private iCloud account.
iCloud sync depends on Apple, your account, compatible devices, connectivity and available storage. Sync changes take effect after Kaelor reopens, and updates may take time to reach other devices. Changes, deletions and restored data can propagate while sync is active.
Sync is not a historical backup. Turning it off does not delete existing cloud records. Review the app’s deletion and restore confirmations carefully and keep an independent copy of important memories. The Privacy Policy explains local deletion, cloud copies, offloading, device backups and independent exported files.
8. App Lock, encrypted files and recovery
Keep your device and Apple Account secure. PIN App Lock protects app access, and Premium can add biometric unlock with a PIN fallback. App Lock is separate from encrypted file protection and does not make shared PDFs or other copies private.
Premium backup and export containers are password-protected. Keep the password and your backup files safe. We cannot recover a forgotten file password or your PIN. Remembering an encryption password stores it in this iPhone’s Keychain; it is not an OPEXPER password-recovery service.
A PDF is a readable document, not a restorable Kaelor backup. Restore operations may replace existing data and may affect synced copies. Check the preview before confirming. Device loss, deletion, damaged files or technical failures can affect access; these practical limitations do not remove any legal responsibility or remedy.
9. Permissions and third-party services
Photos, location, notifications and biometric access are optional or used only for the relevant feature. You can manage permissions in iPhone Settings. Disabling permission may prevent the corresponding feature from working; you can continue using the other available journaling features.
Apple provides the App Store, iCloud, location and mapping, system photo and file pickers, notifications and biometric authentication. Other apps and file providers you choose have their own terms and privacy arrangements. Visiting OPEXPER’s website is covered by the website’s separate policies.
10. Availability, updates and ending use
Check the App Store listing and release information for supported versions, compatibility and features. We aim to provide a useful, reliable app but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Any updates, compatibility changes or withdrawal remain subject to applicable consumer rights and contractual obligations.
You may stop using Kaelor at any time. The applicable app licence governs termination. Export or back up any information you want to keep before deleting the app or its data. Stopping use does not automatically erase independent cloud, backup or shared copies.
11. Responsibility and disputes
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights, remedies or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including mandatory consumer rights, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
These supplemental terms impose no additional monetary limit on liability. Any provisions in the applicable app licence remain subject to mandatory law. If the app is faulty or not as described, contact OPEXPER so that we can investigate.
These terms do not impose an additional exclusive court or governing-law requirement. Mandatory protections and rights to bring a claim under the law applicable to you remain unaffected.
12. Changes and contact
We may update these terms to reflect changes to Kaelor or applicable requirements. Revised terms will show an updated date. Changes will not retrospectively remove accrued rights. Where notice or agreement is legally required, we will provide it.
