At a glance
FindMyBox keeps your moving and storage records on your device. You can optionally sync them through your private iCloud account. No separate FindMyBox account is required.
1. About this policy
This policy covers FindMyBox for iPhone and iPad, developed and operated under the OPEXPER name. It explains how the app handles boxes, contents, rooms, photos, storage locations, transport records, labels and backups.
For privacy questions or requests about information held by OPEXPER, use the OPEXPER Support Hub linked below and select FindMyBox. Website visits and support correspondence are covered separately by the OPEXPER Site Privacy Policy.
2. Information you save in the app
FindMyBox stores the information you enter: box numbers and names, rooms, notes, packing status, storage locations, contents and quantities, and photos you take or choose. It also stores record identifiers, creation dates and your app preferences.
If you use Transport Tracking, the app stores vehicle or shipment names, company or driver details, vehicle details, references, notes, box assignments and dated loading or delivery events. Tracking records are created through your actions in the app; this is not GPS or live vehicle tracking.
This information is used to organise, search and display your belongings, create documents, and record your moving progress. Storage locations are text you enter. The app does not request your device’s location.
Your notes, photos and transport details may contain personal information about you or others. Only include information you are entitled to use and avoid unnecessary sensitive information.
3. Local storage and optional iCloud sync
By default, FindMyBox stores its records on your device. You can turn on iCloud Sync in Settings to sync boxes, contents, rooms, transports, tracking history and photos using Apple CloudKit and the private database associated with your Apple Account.
The selected sync setting takes effect after the app reopens. Sync requires an available iCloud account and depends on Apple’s service, network access and available storage. The app can check iCloud account availability when you open its sync settings.
FindMyBox does not send your inventory to an OPEXPER-operated server. OPEXPER does not have access to the records in your private iCloud database through the app. Apple provides the iCloud service under its own terms and privacy policy.
Turning sync off stops new syncing after the app reopens and retains the local copy. It does not itself erase existing iCloud copies. Changes and deletions can reach your other devices while sync is active. Sync maintains a current copy; it is not a historical backup.
4. Camera and selected photos
FindMyBox asks for camera permission when you choose to take a photo or scan a QR label. You can refuse or revoke this permission in your device settings; those camera functions will then be unavailable.
You can also choose images through Apple’s photo picker. The app receives the photos you select, rather than browsing your whole photo library. Selected or captured photos are resized and saved with the relevant box or contents entry, and are included in optional sync and exported backups.
QR scanning is used to read FindMyBox box identifiers. The app does not record video or audio for this feature or upload the camera feed to OPEXPER.
5. QR labels, packing slips and sharing
A FindMyBox QR code contains a box identifier, not the box title, contents, room or storage location. Scanning looks for the corresponding record available in the app; the code is not a backup or a public inventory link.
Printed labels also display human-readable information such as the box number and title. Detailed packing slips may include further inventory information. Anyone who can see a printed or exported document can read its visible content.
You choose when to print, save or share documents using Apple’s system controls. Printers, recipients, file providers and services you select may receive and retain copies under their own arrangements. Review documents before sharing them.
6. Backup files and restoration
Create backup in Settings → Backup & Data exports a separate .findmyboxbackup file containing the rooms, boxes, contents, transports, tracking history and photos available on your device at that time, plus backup metadata such as creation time and app version.
FindMyBox does not encrypt the exported backup file. Keep it in a secure location and share it only with people you intend to give access to its contents. A file saved to iCloud Drive or another provider is subject to that provider’s storage and sharing settings.
Restoring a backup replaces the current app data. If iCloud Sync is active, the replacement can sync to other devices. Exported backups are independent snapshots and are not removed when you later delete records in the app.
Apple device backups, computer backups and device transfers may also include app data, depending on your settings. OPEXPER does not operate or access those backups.
7. Advertising, analytics and Apple services
The current FindMyBox app does not include advertising, third-party analytics, cross-app tracking or an AI service. It does not send your inventory, photos or usage activity to OPEXPER for advertising or analytics, and we do not sell your app content or use it to train AI models.
Apple separately operates the App Store, iCloud and device services. Apple may process download, payment and diagnostic information under its own policies and your settings. Any diagnostics Apple makes available to developers are separate from your private inventory records.
App Store payments, if applicable, are handled by Apple. FindMyBox does not receive your payment-card details.
8. Retention, deletion and your choices
App records remain until you remove them or delete the app’s data. You can edit your entries, remove photos and delete boxes. When deleting a box, contents you choose to move to another box remain; remaining contents and the deleted box’s tracking events are removed.
To remove the current inventory, open Settings → Backup & Data, choose Delete all data and confirm. This removes rooms, boxes, contents, transports, tracking history and their stored photos. App preferences are separate.
With iCloud Sync active, deletions can sync to your other devices. Allow syncing to complete before disabling it if you intend deletions to reach iCloud. When sync is off, deleting local records does not itself delete previously synced cloud records. Apple’s iCloud storage controls may also let you manage app data held in iCloud.
Delete App removes local app data; offloading retains documents and data. Removing the app does not by itself remove independent backup files, shared documents, original photos or all iCloud copies. Manage those separately with Apple, the file provider or the recipient. Restoring a backup may bring back earlier records.
We cannot remotely retrieve or erase records held only on your device or in your private iCloud account. You control those records through the app and your Apple Account.
9. Security
FindMyBox uses storage provided by iOS and iPadOS and, when enabled, Apple’s private CloudKit database. Protect your device and Apple Account, keep software up to date, and restrict access to exports and printed documents.
No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Keep separate backups of important records. The app does not add password protection or encryption to exported backup files.
10. Support and privacy rights
If you contact OPEXPER, we receive the information you choose to submit so that we can respond. App records and photos are not automatically attached to a support request. Do not send a full backup or sensitive inventory information unless it is needed to explain your issue.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or obtain a copy of personal information held about you, and to restrict or object to its use. Use the Support Hub for requests concerning information OPEXPER holds. For your local or private iCloud records, use the controls described above.
You may raise a privacy concern with your local data protection authority. In the United Kingdom, this is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
11. Children and policy changes
FindMyBox is a general-purpose moving and storage organiser. Parents and guardians should supervise children’s use where appropriate, including photos, sharing, purchases and external services.
We will update this policy when information handling changes and revise the date above. We will provide any notice or seek any permission required before introducing new processing. Continued use is not treated as consent to unrelated uses of your information.
